James Webb moved to meet Ariane 5

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has been finally transferred to the final assembly building on 7th of December. This final assembly building is situated in Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. In this assembly building, James Webb is going to meet its Ariane 5 launch vehicle for the first time.

James Webb’s vitals were thoroughly monitored by mechanisms. The Telescope has been carried inside a special transport container to move it from one place to the other. In its entire process of moving, scientists have kept close eye on it.

The Ariane 5 rocket, which is going to carry James Webb, has also been transferred to the same building on 7th December. In this new place, scientists and engineers will get the opportunity to adjust the launch vehicle and its payload for the last time.

After the successful adjustment, the next step will be to safely lift Webb to an upper platform. This platform has been newly prepared for Webb as scientists need Webb to be connected to the upper stage of Ariane 5. After Webb is connected to Ariane 5, technicians will encapsulate Webb in a specially adapted fairing of Ariane 5.

Webb will be launched in 22nd December. Scientists and engineers have already successfully completed the complicated and delicate operation. These delicate operations include loading the spacecraft with the propellant.

Webb is going to be one of the most powerful and large telescopes that has been sent to space. The European Space Agency has provided telescope’s launch service, as a part of an international collaboration agreement.

ESA is responsible for the development of Ariane 5, as a launching mechanism for Webb. Webb has been developed in collaboration of NASA, ESA and Canadian Space Agency.
